“Lights On” In Johnsburg Celebration, “Lights On” begins the first full weekend after Thanksgiving, For over 40 years the Town of Johnsburg has celebrated this seasonal event with lights & music & laughter.
All Businesses are asked to decorate their outdoor property with white lights, natural boughs, and red bows to show a unified theme to residents and visitors alike. We encourage you to leave the white lights up all winter.

5:30 at the Community Tree across from the Phoenix Inn
5:30 to 7:00 pm Santa’s Christmas Caboose
Tour the Caboose and Visit with Santa, Mrs. Clause & Costumed Characters. The Owens House Gallery will become a delightful Gingerbread House

A Holiday Celebration at Tannery Pond Community Center – North Creek
Directed by Denise Conti and accompanied by Linda Little and Don Preuninger on piano, the choir will perform holiday favorites and carols. A special group of young, talented singers will also join the festivities. This year’s concert features storyteller, Robin Jay. The JCS Jazz Band under the direction of Max Garrett and the JCS Student Jazz Quartet will join us for Saturday’s show. The Guiding Steps North Dancers under the direction of Krystal Koopman will perform for the Sunday show. All are welcome to this community event!
This is also the beginning of the Community Lighting Contest
The community is once again encouraging businesses and residents to vie for the prize! Register your residence or business at the Town Hall by calling 518.251.2421 ext. 2 and give Joanne your address for the competition. Prizes will be awarded for the best decorated in three categories, best residence, best not-for-profit and best business. The Prize is $300 cash in each category. Registration deadline is December 10th, judging will take place between December 11th and 20th, and winners will be announced at the town board meeting on December 21st. Warren County Planning Department will list your address on the Counties web site so holiday light enthusiasts can see your efforts.
