Say goodbye to cabin fever this weekend and say hello to beautiful weather and endless activities. This weekend, in the Lake George Area, there are plenty of options to get you out of the house.

Maple, Maple, & More Maple

It’s maple month in New York. If you love all things maple, we have some activities to watch out for this weekend. Starting out the weekend on Friday, March 13th, head over to the Adirondacks Welcome Center, located between exits 17 and 18 on the Northway for a maple milk sampling, produced by Bunker Hill Creamery from Washington County. While you are there, make sure to look out for some other tasty maple treats made locally in the vending machines.

Saturday March 14th kicks off the first weekend of Thurman Maple Days! Thurman Maple Days features maple farms of various sizes using a variety of techniques from classic to industrial to boil sap down to delicious maple syrup. During these three weekends in March, (March 14,15; March 21,22 and March 28,29) you’ll get a chance to tour four local maple farms including three of the largest in Warren County —Hidden Hollow, Valley Road, and Toad Hill.

Mud St. Maple, a newer producer known for unique products such as bourbon maple syrup will also be open for tours during these three weekends.

You’ll also get the chance to visit Nettle Meadow, an award winning goat and sheep cheese producer, find all-natural and organic items at Blackberry Hill Farm or even Peru Llama Farm for demonstrations, samplings and wagon rides. Stop into Valley Road Maple Farm for a pancake breakfast from 9am till 1pm each day serving regular and gluten free pancakes and Oscar’s sausages and drinks.

On Saturday March 14th, enjoy dinner at the 60th Maple Jack Wax Party, starting at 3pm, at the Town Hall with live music, raffles and more with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society! (Jack Wax pictured above!)
