Led by Sheila Brumley and in our Yin practice we hold each posture for a longer period of time. To start maybe 5 minutes for each pose. Working our hold time up to 20-30 minutes or more (with lots of practice).
Yin targets the fascia, the deep connective tissue that holds all our ligaments, joints and bones together. It takes about 2-3 minutes for the fascia to start to activate or start to stretch.
In practice we move slowly and with intention into the pose. Our focus is on our breath and the sensations. Some of the benefits include improved flexibility, range of motion, improved mood and sleep, reduce stress, calm mind, restore energy.

This class will be held at Adirondack Salt Cave, 11 Broad Street Glens Falls NY.
Mats and props will be provided.

About Sheila Brumley:

I’m a native of Glens Falls, graduate of GFHS class of ‘87, and currently live in GF with my husband and our 3 rescue dogs.
I too took my first yoga class about 15 years ago and practiced sporadically.
Fast forward to 2020 … in the midst of the pandemic I went from a full-time realtor to a yoga alliance certified yoga instructor. Because consciously breathing and moving is what got me through!
Let me tell you yoga is indeed for every BODY! Yeah, I know… you’re not bendy, you’re too fat, too thin, too old, to this and too that…. These are made up stories! I was morbidly obese when I took my first yoga class!! Don’t believe me, I’ll show you pictures!
No fancy clothes or equipment needed, you already have everything you need for a yoga class (a willingness and a body)!
I look forward to practicing with you!
