10:00 am - Hooray for halfway! Put on your best hiking apparel and celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Northville-Placid Trail at ADKX, located (roughly) near the halfway mark of the trail in Hamilton County. Start your day with a guided nature walk with Naturalist, Adirondack Guide, and Author Ed Kanze along a section of the NPT in the Blue Mountain Wilderness Area. Head over to the ADKX campus in the afternoon for a campfire, s’mores, and stories from the trail. Listen to a program by Julia Goren, Deputy Executive Director of the Adirondack Mountain Club at 2 PM, and take a tour of ADKX’s new temporary exhibit Trail Makers: 100 Years of the Northville-Placid Trail.

Group Photo Call! ADKX is organizing a commemorative group photo to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the NPT and the thousands of hikers who have traveled the trail. Meet on the center campus of ADKX at 1:30 to take part in the photo! Our goal—138 people, one person for every mile.

Schedule of programs at ADKX:

10 AM – 12 PM guided nature walk with Ed Kanze on NPT section. Pre-registration is required.

12:30-1:30 PM Campfire stories on center campus

1:30 PM Group photo on center campus
