A New Stage for Summer: Live Music Returns to Shepard Park
There are few Lake George traditions as beloved as live music in Shepard Park. With the lake just steps away, the mountains in the background, and visitors gathered on blankets and lawn chairs, summer concerts in the park have long been part of the classic Lake George experience.
This year, that tradition enters an exciting new chapter with the opening of the newly reconstructed Shepard Park Amphitheater. The new performance space replaces the former 1980s bandstand, which was destroyed by fire in 2024, and brings an upgraded stage back to the heart of Lake George Village.
Designed as part of the Lake George Downtown Revitalization Initiative, the new amphitheater includes improvements to accessibility, safety, lighting, acoustics, utilities, and performer facilities. The result is a refreshed lakeside venue ready to welcome concerts, festivals, community events, and visitors all summer long.
*Guests are encouraged to check event details before heading out, as concert locations may vary while the new amphitheater is completed.*
A New Chapter for a Lake George Landmark
Shepard Park has always been more than just a park. Located along Canada Street in the heart of Lake George Village, it serves as a gathering place for concerts, festivals, fireworks, family outings, and community celebrations.
After two seasons of temporary staging, the new amphitheater restores a permanent performance space to one of the village’s most iconic public areas. With modern upgrades and the same beautiful Lake George backdrop, the new stage is ready to support a full season of live entertainment.
Whether you are planning a weeklong vacation, a weekend getaway, or an evening in the village, Shepard Park is once again a must-visit destination for free outdoor music and summer fun.
Live Music All Summer Long
The new Shepard Park Amphitheater will serve as the backdrop for a full schedule of free and family-friendly music throughout the summer. From local favorites to nationally touring artists, visitors can enjoy live performances several nights a week in one of the most scenic settings in the Adirondacks.
