The Queensbury Hotel and Spruce Hospitality Group announces a restructuring of their culinary team and continued plans for an expanded Adirondack Ballroom.

GLENS FALLS, NY — The Queensbury Hotel and Spruce Hospitality Group has announced the addition of Adam Savage, CEC to their culinary team as Director of Culinary.

Adam Savage has an extensive resume that includes experience from The Breakers Hotel, The Sanibel Harbor Resort and Delray Beach Marriott in Florida to his most recent tenure as the Executive Chef of The Sagamore Resort in Bolton Landing, NY.

With Savage’s arrival as the Director of Culinary of Spruce Hospitality, he will focus on overseeing The Queensbury Hotel’s existing culinary department and bringing better organization and efficiency. Chef Savage will lead a complete overhaul of the existing banquet offerings, while working alongside Chef de Cuisine Colin Miner to elevate the guest culinary and dining experience.

“We are very excited to be able to make this type of addition to our team, even in the current environment.  Adam is a true professional that will not only elevate our current offerings but bring a level of experience that is needed in kitchen administration, organization and execution that this property has not seen in over 40 years.  In addition, as we continue to forge ahead with our Adirondack Ballroom expansion project, Chef Savage’s experience over the past two decades at The Sagamore and Delray Beach Marriott will only further ensure we are ready for this next step in the restoration and rebirth of our city’s Queen!” General Manager, Tyler Herrick said.

The Queensbury Hotel has been welcoming visitors and locals alike to the corner of Ridge and Maple Street in the heart of Glens Falls since 1926. In March of 2016, local businessman and developer Ed Moore purchased the hotel and Spruce Hospitality Group began managing the property. Since the purchase, Mr. Moore has invested over 3 million dollars restoring the historic downtown landmark while Spruce Hospitality has worked to enhance, modernize and elevate the guest experience through all aspects of the operation.

“I am honored to join Spruce Hospitality and The Queensbury Hotel team. The hotel is a stunning beauty laden in rich history,” said Chef Savage. “Ed Moore, Tyler Herrick and the Executive Team have fostered a culture of teamwork, professionalism and top-notch customer service. I applaud them for their commitment to excellence. It is a very exciting time at the hotel, you can feel the energy in the air. It is incredible! We will be introducing some new and exciting culinary programs very soon. Stay tuned!”

“I very proud of the addition and the announcement that Chef Savage will be joining our team at the Queensbury and Spruce Hospitality. Tyler has assembled a great team and by the addition of a skilled, professional culinary leader with the pedigree of Chef Savage will enhance our operation and continue to illustrate our family’s commitment to the community and property” said Edward Moore, owner of The Queensbury Hotel.

The Queensbury Hotel just finished phase two of their three phase restoration plans for the property.  Since March of 2016, the property’s 123 guest rooms, guest corridors, lobby, restaurants and existing event space have been renovated to restore the charm and grandeur of this downtown Glens Falls Landmark.  The property currently features 12,000 square feet of event space and two dining outlets that are open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  With the assistance of Phinney Design Group of Saratoga Springs, the Moore Family continues to develop plans to expand the existing 2,500 square foot Adirondack Ballroom to a 6,000 square foot space large enough to accommodate events from 400 – 600 attendees.

“Chef Adam’s skills and knowledge will be a great addition to the team and our downtown community.  As we all navigate the “new normal,” we are excited to continue to offer fresh experiences at the Q,” says Zack Moore, Managing Partner Spruce Hospitality Group.
