Adirondack Brewery Brings Double the Oktoberfest Fun to Lake George This Fall

Autumn is one of the most beautiful times to visit Lake George, and Adirondack Brewery is adding to the charm with two exciting Oktoberfest events this October. Amidst the colorful foliage and the stunning backdrop of the Adirondack Mountains, the brewery invites locals and visitors alike to celebrate the season with authentic Bavarian flair. This year’s Oktoberfest celebrations will feature two distinct experiences: a free, family-friendly festival in Lake George Village and a lively 21+ Charity Block Party at the brewery itself. Rain or shine, both events promise great food, music, games, and of course, an exceptional lineup of Adirondack Brewery's craft beverages.

Supporting a Good Cause

Both events will benefit the Ben Osborn Memorial Fund, a local non-profit organization dedicated to helping children in need. The fund honors the memory of CPL Osborn, who lost his life while serving in Afghanistan. Each year, the Adirondack Brewery Oktoberfest supports a different community charity, adding a meaningful local touch to the celebrations. "Our Oktoberfest events are inspired by the traditions of Bavaria, but we like to add a local emphasis," says brewery owner John Carr. "These festivals not only bring people together to celebrate but also give back to the community."

All ages can enjoy carnival games, live German music, traditional dancers, over 40 artisan vendors, and delicious German-inspired cuisine like giant pretzels, wiener schnitzel, and sausage samplers. The Adirondack Brewery Beer Garden will be open to serve craft brews and more.

The festivities kick off on Friday night at 5 PM with free Oktoberfest hats for attendees. Saturday will bring a variety of live bands, stein hoisting contests, and other games, while Sunday will wrap up the weekend with traditional dance lessons and performances.

Sewell Street will be closed for the party, complete with a large outdoor stage for live entertainment, games, and contests — all set up rain or shine under large tents. Guests are encouraged to dress in traditional Oktoberfest attire, with a costume contest as part of the festivities.

"We wanted the Oktoberfest Charity Block Party to have broad appeal, so we’ve got something for everyone," Carr says. "It's not just about beer — we have wine, cider, and spirits too. Plus, there's a traditional German meal for all attendees."

More Than Just a Festival

Last year’s Oktoberfest events raised over $10,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Southern Adirondacks, bringing the total to more than $135,000 donated to local charities since the festivals began. This year, Adirondack Brewery is excited to build on that tradition of giving back to the community while offering a unique, fall-themed celebration.
