CDTA Kicks of Summer Trolley Season!

This Tuesday, the Lake George community came together to celebrate a significant milestone—the 30th anniversary of the Lake George Trolley! Hosted by the Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) and supported by the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce, this event marked the beginning of an exciting summer season with expanded trolley services.

This year marks CDTA's first year operating the trolley service in Lake George after the merger with Greater Glens Falls Transit. Trolley service began on Memorial Day weekend in 1994, aiming to alleviate traffic congestion and parking issues. In its inaugural season, the service carried more than 24,000 customers—a testament to its value and necessity.

Expanded Trolley Service Schedule

Starting on Friday, May 24, 2024, the Lake George Trolley will operate weekend services with trolleys running from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. every 20 to 30 minutes. The service will be available seven days a week, continuing through Columbus/Indigenous People's Day weekend.

The trolley routes cover the Village and Town of Lake George, Town of Bolton, and Diamond Point, offering frequent trips to the City of Glens Falls and Queensbury. Key attractions like the Lake George Outlets and Great Escape are also easily accessible through this service.
