Celebrate Independence Day All Weekend with Fireworks Around the Lake George Region

The breathtaking beauty of the Lake George region in upstate New York is a perfect backdrop for celebrating Independence Day. Rain or shine, the lake area becomes a hub of excitement, festivities, and patriotic spirit. Whether you're a local resident or a visitor, there's an array of events happening around Lake George on the 4th of July 2023 that promise an unforgettable holiday experience.

No 4th of July celebration is complete without a dazzling fireworks display, and communities around the Lake George region know how to light up the sky in style. Prepare to be amazed as a breathtaking pyrotechnic spectacle illuminates the evening sky over the lake. Find a cozy spot along the shoreline or hop aboard a boat cruise to enjoy the mesmerizing bursts of color echo throughout the mountains. You can enjoy fireworks beyond the lake in surrounding communities throughout the weekend.

The regular Thursday night fireworks shows in Lake George begin Thursday,  July 13, 2023 and continue through August.

JULY 1

Music on the mountain at West Mountain — Queensbury

West Mountain’s Music on the Mountain Summer Concert includes fireworks.

Fireworks over Sandy Bay — Lake George

Enjoy a large fireworks display over Sandy Bay in honor of Tommy Hans, Skipper Moynihan and Andy Yanney. Please make a donation to the Lake George Association in their name.

JULY 1, 2 & 4

Fireworks Cruises — Lake George

Fireworks are shot off from a barge on July 1,2 and 4. Enjoy cocktails and snacks aboard one of the cruise ships for an amazing view of the fireworks shows ON the lake.

The Lake George Steamboat Co. Minne Ha-ha sails Saturday, July 1. All three boats cruise Sunday,  July 2nd and Tuesday,  July 4th.

Cocktail & Snack Bars are available on the boat.

Each cruise is approximately 1 hr. 15 minutes.

The Lake George Waterfront Cruises Adirondac will sail on July 1 and 2. On July 4 both the Adirondac and Horicon will be available for fireworks cruises!

JULY 2

Glens Falls Dragons Baseball — East Field, Glens Falls

Enjoy a game of baseball before the fireworks show scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m. The game starts at 7 p.m.

JULY 2

Independence Day Celebration — Johnsburg

Prior to the fireworks display at dusk, visitors will enjoy an old-fashioned parade complete with live bands, food from local vendors, lots of kids' activities — including pony rides! — all set to the background of live music and One Smooth DJ's Party Experience.

Coca-Cola July 4th Fest & Fireworks at The Great Escape – Queensbury

Enjoy fireworks, rides, discounted tickets and more when you celebrate Coca-Cola July 4th Fest at Six Flags Great Escape & Hurricane Harbor!

JULY 3

Glens Falls Symphony Summer Pops Concert & Fireworks — Crandall Park, Glens Falls

 The Glens Falls Symphony presents the annual Summer Pops Concert at Crandall Park on Sunday,  July 3rd, beginning at 7:30 pm.  This annual family favorite Independence Day concert is free and open to all. The public is invited to come early, set up blankets and chairs, and enjoy food and beverages from a variety of food and beverage vendors. The concert will conclude with an impressive display of fireworks at dusk, set to John William’s “Summon the Heroes.”

Music in the Park — Hague

Food vendors start serving at 5:30 p.m. Concerts begin at 6 p.m. Enjoy fireworks at dusk! Head to Hague every Wednesday this summer in July and August for more of the Hague Music in the Park Concert Series!

JULY 4

Fireworks – Lake George Village

A stunning fireworks display is visible from almost anywhere in the Village of Lake George. This show begins at dusk round 9:30 p.m.

Best 4th in the North Fireworks — Ticonderoga

The Best 4th in the North takes place in Ticonderoga from July 1-4 with a grand fireworks display on July 4th at dusk around 9:30 p.m.

Independence Day Celebration — Bolton Landing

Bolton Landing will celebrate Independence Day at Roger's Memorial Park from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., with a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. Prior to the display, visitors will be treated to live music, a magic show, and more.

JULY 8

Summerfest and Fireworks — Chestertown

The annual Summerfest with fireworks takes place after Independence Day on July 8. The fireworks display is launched near Chester Town Hall. Rain date of July 9.

*Please note the Thursday night Fireworks in the Lake George Village will begin on Thursday, July 13th!
