Fire, Flavor and Fireworks: Barrel Fest Returns to Lake George

If you’ve been waiting for the perfect excuse to visit the Lake George Region in March, this is it.

Late winter here has a personality all its own. The crowds are lighter. The lake feels calm and scenic. And then, just when you’re ready for something lively, Barrel Fest lights the fire — literally.

The 14th Annual Adirondack Brewery Barrel Fest returns on Saturday, March 14, 2026, bringing barrel-aged beverages, live music, a massive bonfire and fireworks to the heart of Lake George Village. This outdoor event runs from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and delivers one of the most unique craft beverage experiences in the Northeast.

A Festival Built Around Barrel-Aged Flavor

Barrel Fest is dedicated exclusively to barrel-aged beer, cider, wine and spirits. Every pour has been aged in wood barrels to develop deeper, richer and more complex flavors — from bourbon barrel-aged stouts to oak-rested specialty ales and spirit-finished ciders.

Confirmed 2026 participants include standout producers like Common Roots Brewing Company, Northway Brewing Co., Fidens Brewing Company, Mean Max Brew Works, Adirondack Winery and Harvest Spirits Farm Distillery — with dozens more expected.

More Than a Tasting — It’s an Adirondack Experience

Barrel Fest blends bold flavor with unmistakable Lake George energy:

• A multi-story bonfire complete with the iconic “burning man” statue
• Live music throughout the afternoon
• Complimentary snacks
• A fireworks show to close out the event

There is something uniquely Adirondack about standing outside in March, gathering near a roaring fire, sipping barrel-aged pours and watching fireworks over Lake George.

Insider Tips from the Chamber

As the regional experts, here’s what we tell visitors every year to make their Barrel Fest weekend smooth, comfortable and unforgettable:

✔ Dress for Real Adirondack March Weather
This is an outdoor event and it will not be canceled due to weather. Snow, sunshine, slush or mud — it’s happening. Waterproof boots are essential. Dress in layers so you can adjust throughout the afternoon.

✔ Start with Brunch
Barrel-aged beverages tend to be higher in ABV and rich in flavor. The “Kegs & Eggs” brunch (11:30 AM – 2:00 PM) is not just delicious — it’s a smart way to pace your day.

✔ Book Lodging in the Village
Staying within walking distance allows you to fully enjoy the event responsibly. March is shoulder season, which often means strong availability and competitive rates.

✔ Arrive Early & Park Smart
Free parking is available at High Peaks Distilling (1 Canada Street), but spots fill. Plan to arrive early so you can park, check in and settle in before sampling begins.

✔ Hydrate & Pace Yourself
Take your time. Use the complimentary water provided on-site. Enjoy the live music and bonfire between tastings instead of rushing.

✔ Review the Guest Lineup in Advance

Planning your “must-visit” stops ahead of time makes the experience even better.

✔ Make It a Weekend
Pair Barrel Fest with dinner reservations, shopping along Canada Street, or a scenic lakeside walk. Late winter in the Lake George Region offers a quieter, more intimate travel experience.

Barrel Fest is festive, flavorful and just rugged enough to feel authentically Adirondack. It’s a celebration of craft, community and late-winter energy — and one of our favorite reasons to recommend a March visit to the Lake George Region.
