Update as of June 7, 2021: The Village of Lake George updated its official fireworks schedule. 2021 Fireworks shows will start with the Independence Day show at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 4, 2021. Thursday shows will commence on Thursday, July 8, 15, 22, 29 & August 5, 12, 19, 26 and Sept. 2. A special show is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 24.
We’ve got some breaking news with a bang!
The weekly Thursday night fireworks shows are set to return to Lake George during summer 2021.
Though the news is contingent on how the COVID-19 pandemic progresses, the outlook is optimistic.
As of April 2 in Warren County, where Lake George is located, nearly 40 percent of residents have received at least their first COVID-19 vaccine.
New York state also opened a vaccination site at Aviation Mall in the former Sears location.
Anyone eligible from New York state can make an appointment there. This week people age 30 and older became eligible.

If you own or belong to a business or organization that would like to sponsor a fireworks show, please contact our Executive Director Gina Mintzer by email or at (518) 668-5755. This could be a great opportunity to get your business name in front of thousands of people.
The fireworks are typically set of from a barge on the lake and visible from anywhere along the shoreline of Lake George. The Lake George Steamboat Company and Lake George Shoreline Cruises typically offer fireworks cruises. Many restaurants in Lake George provide great seating for fireworks and a bite to eat. Many lodging options in the village of Lake George on Canada Street provide excellent views as well for a more private setting for the show.
This past February as part of the new Lake George Area Winterfest promotion there were a few fireworks shows with social distancing protocols in place. Most people watched from their vehicles. Stay tuned for any updated safety information for this summer’s shows.
Typically, the Lake George Winter Carnival has fireworks every February, but that event was cancelled for 2021 due to the pandemic and surge in cases earlier this year.
Fireworks are some of the most popular events in Lake George. Our office fields many questions about them each year, so if you’re planning to visit during a time when you can enjoy the show, make your reservation ASAP!
Our lodging members are already reporting robust bookings for this summer with some who were already sold out by the end of March for the summer.
If you have any questions about visiting the area, call us at (518) 668-5755 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. You can also email us or send us a message on Facebook.
