Lake George listed as one North America's Best Lake Towns!

The latest accolade for our area comes from TripAdvisor, which just placed Lake George, NY on a list of North America's 18 best lake towns!

Lake towns chosen range in size and location across the continent. Ithaca was the only other New York destination on the list.

Lake George, located in New York's Adirondack Park, was even mentioned in the opening paragraph along with Lake Louise in Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies!

"From the sandy shores of Lake George to the astonishing scenery of Lake Louise, read on for 18 of North America’s best lake towns," the opening reads.

Coincidentally, we had representation in Banff around this time last year for the Adventure Travel Trade Association Elevation Conference as they announced the Lake George Area is the destination for the 2019 Elevate Conference in June! Click here for more information on ATTA Elevate.

TripAdvisor noted that Lake George provides both relaxed-pace vacations as well as adrenaline pumping adventure. Congrats to Lake George Steamboat Company's Lac du Saint Sacrement on the shout-out in the post! There are two companies on Lake George — Shoreline and Lake George Steamboat Company — that offer a variety of cruises from special themed nights to one-hour history cruises. Award-winning Adirondack Winery was also mentioned as a great place to "wind down." They are one of Lake George's year-round businesses right on Canada Street and are celebrating their 11th year in April. You'll find a variety of wines from dry reds and whites to fruit infused wines that are all made in Queensbury, NY. They also showcase local foods that you can try with your wine tasting.
