Local Businesses Look Forward To Ring In The New Season
Posted: 2/24/2020
The Lake George Regional Convention & Visitors Bureau held a meeting last week to discuss the local market and upcoming plans among local businesses. The CVB was happy to see such an impressive turn out for its February meeting and the energy was high as local partners and businesses look forward to ring in springtime and of course summer.
Many hotels within the Lake George area are planning renovations including The Hampton Inn, The Holiday Inn Resort Lake George with banquet room renovations, The Queensbury Hotel, and The Six Flags Great Escape Lodge And Indoor Water Park. Some renovations are larger in scale than others, although we can all agree that renovations are welcome. (Any specific details on the renovations?)
SUNY Adirondack's Collaborative Cuisine Returns Featuring Adirondack Craft Beverage Trail at Seasoned
If you have not had the opportunity to experience Seasoned by SUNY Adirondack, this spring might be the perfect opportunity for you. Seasoned is open for lunch on Tuesdays through Thursdays and for dinner on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Lunches consist of a three-course gourmet meal in a casual setting consisting of appetizer, entrée, dessert and beverages. Dinners offer a five-course gourmet meal in a fine dining setting consisting of amuse, appetizer, intermezzo, entrée, dessert and beverages.
Seasoned is also bringing back collaborative cuisine featuring some of your favorite local breweries from the Adirondack Craft Beverage Trail, a program of the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce, with four-course meals by Chef Matt Bolton and his students. Breweries collaborating with Seasoned are Common Roots Brewing Company, Mean Max Brew Works, and Northway Brewing Co. The first Collaborative Cuisines will be on April 17th with seating at 5:30pm and dinner at 6:00pm. Primetime Lacrosse expected to bring a lot of business for hotels and other local businesses
Primetime Lacrosse started in 2010 as a single youth tournament for lacrosse players. Today, Primetime Lacrosse has grown into the biggest lacrosse tournament in the New England area with 160 teams. Primetime Lacrosse has come to the Lake George area before and they will return this summer, bringing in kids, their families, and coaches from all over, to our region, providing a boost for the entire tourism and hospitality market in the area.
Upcoming CVB Meetings
The next CVB meeting will take place on March 19, 2020 at Holiday Inn Express at 9:00 a.m. If you have any guest speakers you think would be beneficial for upcoming meetings, feel free to call the Special Event & Convention CVB Sales Director Kristen Hanifin at 518-668-5755 or email her at LakeGeorgeCVB@gmail.com
