Name and Title:

Gina Mintzer
Executive Director

Where are you originally from?

West Palm Beach, FL

When did you join the team at the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce & CVB?

September 2017

What does your job entail?

As the Executive Director of the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce & CVB, I am responsible for the overall development of the processes, productivity and profits that directly impact tourism in the Lake George Region. Overseeing a staff of 13 full and part-time/seasonal staff do the work of the Chamber and the Convention & Visitors Bureau as well as manage 3 visitor welcome information centers that includes the Adirondacks Welcome Center (between exits 17 – 18 on I-87/Northway), which opened in recent years. Prior to joining the LGRCC-CVB in September of 2017, I worked for the Albany County Convention & Visitors Bureau for 19 years, as the director of sales with a staff of 6 working with all the Albany County hotels and the entire hospitality community to bring meeting, convention and sports business to Albany.

I am involved in local, state and national organizations within the industry including the Chamber Alliance of NYS (CANYS), NYS Hospitality & Tourism Association (NYSHTA), NYS Destination Marketing Organization (NYSDMO), WMHT,  as well as, SUNY Adirondack, and SUNY Delhi, among others.

What is your favorite thing about working at the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce & CVB?

The people... the Lake George region business community is made up of a family of family businesses and every day I get to work with really interesting, hard-working people. And, there is such a variety of local and transplanted people that came here for the beauty of the area and never left. I feel the same way. We enjoy one of the most natural and beautiful places and our neighbors and community strive to keep it that way!

What are some of your favorite things to do in the Lake George region?

I love to drive my Volkswagen “Thing” through Lake George Village through Bolton Landing to Up Yonda Farm and beep/wave at people.  It gives me great joy to see all the visitors that are walking our streets and enjoying their time in the area.  When family and friends visit in the late spring/summer/fall my favorite things to do are a Rev Rail trip, visit to Natural Stone Bridge & Caves, a boat cruise of some sort and a tour of my house in Lake Luzerne (Vanare) to see what house projects are completed/under construction and to enjoy a cheese board at Nettle Meadow at the Hitchin’ Post (since we are neighbors).  I have my own itineraries for different parts of the area.  Of course, no visit is complete without a tour of the Fort William Henry Museum, drive up Prospect Mountain, tasting a craft beverage, walk along the Lake and then a trip to Martha's!

Share a fun fact about yourself!

I'm number 6 of 9 in my family -- and we all still talk to each other and love each other! I live the farthest away from home. Five of my siblings live in Palm Beach County, FL. I have a sister who lives in the Bahamas, a bro in Daytona Beach and a bro that  lives and works between North and South Carolinas.  I have great places to visit family!!! And they think the same about visiting me!
