NYSPHSAA Boys Basketball State Championships in Glens Falls

GLENS FALLS, NY — Our Lake George Regional Convention & Visitors Bureau is thrilled to welcome the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Boys Basketball State Championships back to the city of Glens Falls for the second year in a row at the Cool Insuring Arena.

The Lake George Regional Convention & Visitors Bureau (LGRCVB) is a division of the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce & CVB and works as an extension of the Warren County Tourism Department. While the Tourism Department markets the Lake George Area to the leisure consumer tourism market, the mission of the LGRCVB is to facilitate year-round, weather-proof group business in Warren County, such as the State Championships!

Glens Falls, which hosted the tournament for 36 consecutive years (1981-2016), will conduct the final year of the three-year term that was agreed for the 2021-2023 championships. The tournament was canceled in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The host location for the 2024 tournament has not been determined.

“For many, the basketball court at the Cool Insuring Arena has a certain mystique,” said Glens Falls Mayor Bill Collins. “In fact, some will say our basketball court is ‘sacred.’  From Mullin to Laettner, from Marbury to Huerter, from Jimmer to JG III.  It’s why we say ‘The Road to Glens Falls. Where Legends are Made.’”

“It is very exciting to welcome the NYS Public High School Athletic Association Boys Basketball Championships back to Glens Falls. The buzz from the schools, the students, the fans, and the community is electric. We are fortunate to host this tournament that brings so many visitors to the area to stay overnight, enjoy our restaurants, outlet shopping and more, in addition to all that the Cool Insuring Arena offers," said Gina Mintzer, Executive Director of the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce & CVB.
