Ice, Ice, Baby!

The Lake George region is raising the bar when it comes to winter fun.

A very cool adventure awaits you as several of our Chamber member restaurants and hotels offer outdoor ice lounges complete with ice bars,  luges, games and creative sculptures starting in January and continuing through February.

Many of the ice bars are serving cocktails made with local craft beverages brewed by members of the Adirondack Craft Beverage Trail.

Enjoy a drink while you warm up by a fire put or cozy up with a blanket on a bar stool carved from ice.

No two ice bars are the same. Explore the different themes as you make your way along the ice bar circuit.

There is NO ADMISSION CHARGE to get into any of these events! All are free to attend.

Please remember to be save and arrange for a designated driver if needed. Lyft, Uber and taxi companies are available in the area. There will be a free shuttle offered between Adirondack Pub & Brewery’s Funky Ice Fest and the Holiday Inn Resort’s Forest Ice Bar.

Below is a list of our members who are offering their own renditions of this hot winter trend.

 The Sagamore Resort

The Sagamore Resort in Bolton Landing pioneered the area’s ice bar tradition in January of 2014 with a lounge carved from 18,000 pounds of ice.

Since then The Sagamore’s ice bar has grown  — this year featuring carvings from about 20,000 pounds of ice and a 1920s theme. Head to this icy speakeasy-style bar to be transported back to the Roaring 20s and enjoy some delicious cocktails.

This ice bar is fun rain or shine as a tent covers the event.

The cost to park on the grounds is $15. You can also catch a shuttle for free and park in the lots before the bridge that goes to Green Island, where The Sagamore is located.
