Shop Small to make a Big Impact
Posted: 11/27/2019
Buying local is a gift to the community.
By shopping small, you can make a big impact on the regional economy.
For every $1 spent at a small business, 67 cents stays in the community, according to an American Express-commissioned 2018 Business Economic Impact Study.
That statistic is based on businesses with less than 100 employees — a category many of our Chamber members would full under.
As a reminder, you can always find an array of local products for sale 24/7 in the Taste NY vending machines at the Adirondacks Welcome Center on I-87 between Exits 17 & 18.
That includes great stocking stuffers like local chocolate, honey, maple products and more. This year they even have mugs, locally-spun warm and cozy gloves and socks and more.
Here are some ideas for local shopping and gifiting this season.
