The Bobcat Roller Coaster Opens at Six Flags Great Escape

The Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce & CVB is excited to announce the grand opening of The Bobcat, a highly anticipated new wooden roller coaster at Six Flags Great Escape. This incredible addition marks the first new wooden coaster introduced to New York since 1999, bringing a blend of speed, airtime, and turns with a modern twist to the classic wooden coaster experience.

The Bobcat: A Landmark Addition

The Bobcat offers an adventurous ride with speeds of up to 40 mph>

 Fast facts about The Bobcat: 

• • Speed: up to 40 mph 
• • Height: 55.4 feet 
• • Length:1412 feet 
• • Trains: 2 trains, 12 passengers per train 
• • Height Requirement: 42” with person of responsibility, 48” to ride alone 
• • Beautiful, natural design to complement park surroundings 
• • Revolutionary coaster trains provide smooth rider experience 

“We are so proud to bring a state-of-the-art coaster, the first of its kind across Six Flags properties, right here to the Lake George Region,” said Resort President Rebecca Wood. “The Bobcat is a beautiful, landmark addition to Six Flags Great Escape. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate our 70th anniversary than with an innovative, family coaster that is sure to become a fan-favorite amongst budding and seasoned coaster enthusiasts for years to come.”

The designer of the rollercoaster, Korey T. Kiepert, P.E., Engineer & Principal, The Gravity Group, LLC, explains that this roller coaster is "designed for family" and the restraints were developed for the youngest to the oldest rider to ride comfortably.
