 Additional Information:

Why has Benedict Arnold remained an icon of American history for 250 years? On Saturday, December 9, you’ll have a chance to find out as the Alliance hosts Jack Kelly to talk about his new book from St. Martin’s Press following its official publication date of December 5.

Arnold, Kelly says, he never did anything by halves. “When he fought, he did so with ingenuity, intensity and an almost reckless willingness to risk his own life. When he had a change of heart, he betrayed his country and his comrades in a manner that blackened his name forever.”

Much of Arnold’s military career unfolded in the Champlain-Hudson corridor. He captured Fort Ticonderoga in 1775, fought a wild battle at Valcour Island in 1776, and achieved his consequential victory at Saratoga in 1777. Come for a lively talk and discussion about this most intriguing of Revolutionary War figures.

Copies of GOD SAVE BENEDICT ARNOLD will be available at the event for purchase and signing by the author. It will be a great opportunity to get an intriguing holiday gift for the history-lover—or even the traitor ??—on your shopping list!

For those who can’t be attend on December 9, Jack’s presentation will be recorded and made available afterward on the Lake George Battlefield Park Alliance’s YouTube channel,
