The most sticky-sweet event in the Lake George Area is back! Celebrate NYS Maple Weekends this March with Thurman Maple Days, a beloved spring tradition that brings families and visitors together for three full weekends of maple-themed fun.

For three weekends, the largest maple syrup producers in the Lake George Area—along with neighboring farms—open their sugar shack doors to the public for free. Discover how maple syrup is made straight from the source while enjoying free tours, tastings, and live sugaring demonstrations. The air is filled with the sweet scent of maple as producers offer samples of everything from classic syrup and maple candy to maple cream and other specialty treats.

Visitors can follow posted signs throughout town to explore multiple maple farms and local attractions. Highlights include wagon and hay rides, a working sawmill, handmade cheeses, local llamas, artisan goods, and plenty of maple-inspired shopping. It’s a short-but-special season that’s perfect for families and anyone looking to experience Adirondack heritage.

Getting There

The Town of Thurman is just 20 minutes from Lake George via the Adirondack Northway (I-87). Take Exit 23, then follow Route 9 to Route 418, and watch for posted Maple Days signs throughout town.
