Annual fishing derby on May 2nd from 9am - 11am. Registration begins at 8:30am. Free event for kids ages 3-15. Bring your own fishing pole and bait, we provide the fish!

 

About this event

The Rotary Club of Glens Falls and the City of Glens Falls Recreation Department are hosting the annual Kids Fishing Derby and Casting Contest at Crandall Park Pond on Saturday, May 2nd from 9am-11am. This is a free event for kids ages 3-15. Bring your own fishing pole and bait, we provide the fish!

Check-in begins at 8:30am. To be eligible for competition, participants must report to the check-in table before they begin fishing. For safety reasons, the number of derby participants is limited to 325 anglers.

Prizes will be awarded in each age category for the longest fish, heaviest fish, and the shortest fish. Age categories are:

• 3-5 years
• 6-8 years
• 9-12 years
• 13-15 years

Weigh in an presentation of prizes will be from 11am to 11:30am.

Thank you to FISH307 of Lake George for their contribution of grab bag gifts. Each angler will get to choose a free book provided by the Ben Osborn Memorial Fund.
