Philip Schuyler and the Battle of Lake George

Holiday Inn Resort Lake George

7:00 PM

Join the Lake George Battlefield Park Alliance for “Philip Schuyler and the Battle of Lake George: How the French & Indian War Affected Schuyler’s Revolutionary War Experience,” presented by Kayla Whitehouse of Schuyler Mansion State Historic Site in Albany.

The free program begins at 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 12, at the Holiday Inn Resort Lake George.

Although commissioned as a captain during the French and Indian War and promoted to colonel by its end, Philip Schuyler was not present at the Battle of Lake George on September 8, 1755, and gained limited battlefield experience. This presentation explores his service during that war and how it shaped his military career during the American Revolution.

Whitehouse is the Historic Site Assistant at Schuyler Mansion, where she oversees museum collections, conducts research, and leads guided tours. Schuyler built the mansion in 1764 and lived there until his death in 1804.

To register, email info@lakegeorgebattlefield.org with the number of people attending.
