Try Glassblowing with Artist in Residence Gregory Tomb, now thru September 23 at the Kellogg Building in Riverfront Park in North Creek, NY. Classes are private with COVID-19 protocols in place. Visitors are also welcome to stop by the studio to see the artist at work and browse the variety of beautifully crafted glass on display.
“In my work, I use classic techniques of furnace, fused, flame worked and cold worked glass. I am interested in the modern technological advances available and love finding new ways to express the beauty of this medium.”
Greg will offer two types of basic glassblowing classes. He has named his class types after 2 historic areas, where he will be located. In the classes, Greg will share about the glass making process, how glass color is made, glass history, Saratoga history and the significance of glassblowing to Saratoga’s History. Participants will pick their colors, pick their project and work one-on-one with Greg to make it start to finish. Couples and Family Discounts available.
• Hudson Class participants chose to make a Glass Flower, Paperweight, Mini Glass Pumpkin, Ornament or Solid Heart.
• Tahawus Class students can make a Large Glass Pumpkin, Vase (2 shape choices), or Bowl (3 shape choices).
Rain or Shine With the studio located indoors, Gregory’s classes are a fun way to spend rainy days or add to your outdoor adventures in the Adirondacks.
Private Parties Gregory designs custom experiences for corporate events or private parties.
