Lake George Winter Carnival takes place during the four full weekends in February!
Here's the schedule for President's Day Weekend:
SATURDAY WEEKEND 3
9:00AM – ATV Poker Run: Bring your ATV and compete. Registration is between 9:00 a.m. -11:30 a.m. at Village Blacksmith Steakhouse. Participants must bring their driver’s license and their vehicle must be insured and registered. Call (518) 240-0890 for more information.
12:00PM (‘til it's gone) – Chowder Cook Off: Our third cook off is a tough one. It's the Chowder cook off! The best restaurants in Lake George bring their delicious creations, and compete for your vote at Shepard Park Amphitheater. For just $5.00 sample all of the best chowder in town and vote for the most delicious.
1:30PM-3:30PM – Make Your Own Snow Tie-Dyed T-Shirts: Enjoy this unique experience using tie-dye and snow! It's a ton of fun, and always a nice surprise when you reveal your masterpiece! It's $15 each or 2 for $25, while supplies last! You'll find this located at the Souvenir Tent in Shepard Park.
4:00PM (‘til they're gone!) – S’mores at the Beach: We have a warm fire and all the fixings for some ooey-gooey s’mores! Devour them while they last on the beach at Shepard Park. S'mores are free!
4:00PM-6:00PM – Hot Chocolate Bar: The best way to stay warm in the winter is with hot chocolate. Stand around the fire on the beach at Shepard Park and sip some hot chocolate topped with all of your favorite fixings! This Lake George Winter Carnival staple includes a souvenir mug for $5.00!
6:00PM – Fireworks : This annual show over the Lake is the best possible way to end a day at the Winter Carnival! Enjoy the spectacular view along the shores of the lake.
Sunday - Weekend 3
11:00AM-2:00PM – Youth Hockey Scrimmages: Watch and cheer on local youths as they scrimmage on a rink on Lake George. These kids have skills, so you don't want to miss these games. You can even skate for yourself on the lake! Skates are available with a signed waiver.
12:00PM (‘til gone!) – Make Your Own Sundae Fun Day!: Munch on a free ice cream sundae of your own creation with all your favorite toppings! Join us on the beach at Shepard Park for this tasty event.
12:00PM-3:00PM – Ice Diving Demonstrations: Watch professional divers explore the frigid waters of Lake George off Shepard Park Beach. This event is ice dependent.
12:30PM-2:00PM – Karaoke/Open Mic: Come one, come all! Show off your talents right at the Shepard Park Amphitheater. This is always a great time with the family, and anyone is welcome to sing!
12:30PM – "Glacier" Golf Tournament: Bring your clubs and enjoy a 6 hole course ! Gather a team of 2 or 4 people, and compete for great prizes! Sign up right at the Souvenir Tent in Shepard Park at 11 am. Info: (518)744-1556
2:00PM – Sunday Warm-Up Keg Toss and Ladies Skillet Toss: Think you’ve got the strength it takes to toss a keg? How about a Cast Iron Skillet .Sign up for these competitions by 1:45 at the souvenir tent near Shepard Park and show us what you've got! All ages are welcome!
Throughout each day – Bonfire on the Beach: Visit us to get warm at Shepard Park Beach!
Throughout each day – Helicopter Rides: Fly over Lake George and see the Winter Carnival from above! Fees apply; Please contact Bruce at (518) 361-1380 for more information.
Throughout each day – Horse Drawn Carriage & Sleigh Rides: Step back in time when travel wasn't so face-paced. Enjoy a ride along Canada Street through the carnival festivities. Fees apply; Call Tina Purdy at (518) 321-5539 for information.
