Lite Up the Village & Fireworks

Get in the holiday spirit in Lake George at the annual Lite Up the Village Celebration on Saturday, Nov. 30!

See Shepard Park transformed into a winter wonderland with tens of thousands of lights adorning the lakeside park on Canada Street.

Then watch fireworks light up the sky in a spectacular holiday show.

The Lake George Steamboat Co. is also offering cruises with Santa this year as well as a fireworks cruise.

Come early for lunch from noon to 3 p.m. at The Lagoon Bar and Grill where children can meet Santa and mail their Christmas lists to the North Pole.

The Lagoon is located in the Village Mall on Canada Street overlooking the lake.

Kids meals are only $4 during this special visit from Santa. Large cheese pizzas will be available for just $10.

The Lite Up the Village festivities start at 3 p.m. with horse-drawn carriage rides and refreshments at Shepard Park.

A sing-along with Bobbie Dick and Susie Q will begin at 5 p.m.

Don your best ugly Christmas duds at Lite Up the Village this year for a chance to win $250!

The new Ugly Sweater Contest will take place at the Shepard Park Amphitheatre during the Bobby Dick and Suzie Q show.

The wearer of the ugliest sweater will win a $250 prize. Runner-ups will be awarded trophies.

The lighting ceremony takes place at 6 p.m. with fireworks to follow.

Then a Fire Truck Holiday Light Parade travels up Canada Street to Amherst Street to bring Santa and Mrs. Claus to the Lake George Firehouse on Ottawa Street.

The Ladies Auxiliary will provide free refreshments at the Firehouse while children visit with Santa.

Enjoy holiday favorites performed live by the Lake George Community Band.

 This event goes on rain, snow or shine. There is no charge to park in the Village during this time of year.

 Awards are also given to the best decorated fire trucks and best business or non-profit float in the parade. Those prizes are awarded at the American Legion Post on Route 9L after the parade.
