Adirondack Pub & Brewery : 1 Canada Street, Lake George, NY 12845
1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Returning for its 5th year, the Adirondack Brewery will be hosting their Pumpkin Chunkin’ event on Saturday, November 2nd from 1-5pm in the field behind 1 Canada St. in Lake George. The highlight of this event is the custom made catapults and slingshots that those in attendance can use to launch pumpkins at targets set up in the field. People are encouraged to bring their jack-o-lanterns to potentially have them fly through the air towards the targets.
“We started this as a unique way to bring people together and have some fun with our leftover pumpkins from Halloween,” said John Carr, founder/owner of the Adirondack Brewery. “It was also meant to be something that would attract families to the area, which is why we have so many kids activities planned and there is no fee to participate.”
On top of the catapults and slingshots, the event also features a giant slide, Ferris wheel, inflatables, carnival games, face painting, and numerous food and craft vendors. For fans for the magical arts, Grondahl’s Wizard Workshop will be on there making handcrafted wands and magician Ryan Bliss will be doing stage shows and walk-around, close-up magic.
“We always try to add something new each year to the event to make it fresh,” John Carr explained. “Last year we added a wand maker and brought in a new magician, both of which were huge hits. This year, we’re having The Shire of Glenn Linn come in to do medieval demonstrations, even battles, and ax throwing.”
The live medieval demonstrations from The Shire of Glenn Linn will take place at the top of every hour during the event, with the magical performances on a stage happening directly after. For more information about Pumpkin Chunkin’ go to the Adirondack Brewery facebook page.
